We've got a UMYF calendar bursting at the seams with exciting happenings like Youth Sunday, a life changing EXPERIMENT, fundraising, trips, floats (the parade kind), and more!
Youth Rally This Sunday Night: Meet in the CLLC at 4:30pm for the Charleston District Youth Rally. We’ll head to John Wesley UMC
for dinner, games, music and a message. We’ll return to Hibben at 7:45pm. Bring your friends!

Children's News
CrossWalk, the mid-week children’s program at Hibben. Come join us for a session of fun, crafts, music, and learning about God. Activities will be available for all children 3-years to 6th grade.
If you’re a kid and you haven’t come to CrossWalk yet, you’re missing out!
The CrossWalk schedule is as follows:
4th - 6th grade: 4:00 - 5:00pm
Kids’ Dinner: 5:00pm (pls. make reservation)
3-year-olds - 3rd grade: 5:30 - 6:30pm
Kids meals are served at 5:00 in the CLLC. If your child plans to eat, please fill out a Gathering reservation form, found in your pew rack, and place it in the offering plate. If you'd like to volunteer to help with music or activities, please contact Elizabeth Skogman at 884-9761 or

Gathering
Make your reservation by dropping a Gathering slip (located in the pew racks) in the offering plate, or calling the church office prior to 12:00 noon Monday. As an added convenience, reservations can be made online by simply completing the on-line reservation form (found under 'Members' on the top menu of our Web site) or in the Quick Links menu in the right column. Bread of Life Ministry
Bet you didn’t know about the special welcome our first-time visitors receive after Sunday worship. As an outreach of our Evangelism Committee, all visitors enjoy a loaf of homemade bread delivered to their front door. Mary Ann and Tony Bolt have made this a personal mission since its inception. Sadly, though, the Bolts will be leaving us upon the sale of their home. In order for this ministry to continue, we are looking for volunteers willing to take on the task of baking bread. New Worship Service is Here!
'The Well @ 10:45'
A worship experience.
Hibben’s new weekly worship service started on 6th March
The Well takes place in the Christian Life and Learning Center at 10:45a.m. each Sunday. This time of worship is designed to be open and experiential. A variety of music is offered with a Praise Band providing the primary music. Multi-media and worship arts is used. The atmosphere is warm and casual.
This is a new ministry and opportunity for outreach being made possible by our commitment to the Multiplying Ministry goals. This is a wonderful opportunity for all Hibben members to use our gifts and skills.
We are still seeking Prayer Partners and church members who will commit to attending the service for a three month time period. We are asking for 30 commitments.
The following volunteers needed to serve as frequently as you choose:
HOSPITALITY TEAM: Ushers, Greeters, Coffee-makers
TECHNOLOGY TEAM: Computer & projector; sound board; Powerpoint
SETUP & TAKE-DOWN: Chairs & table setup; altar & band setup

The Chancel Choir Is Calling You
Have you ever wanted to sing in the choir, but felt like you couldn't commit long-term? Well, here is your chance to sing with the choir for Easter! Surprised By Hope
Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church

Words of Encouragement
As many have noticed, Norma Taylor has not been with us on Sunday mornings for quite some time. Norma has temporarily moved to Alabama while she recuperates and gains her strength. Bible Study Opportunities
Revelation Study
"Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation" by Bruce M. Metzger. Eight Sessions. All interested persons are welcome to join a Wednesday morning Bible study from 10:30 until 12:00 starting Sept. 8th. This is an informal study as we gather to study God's Word with prayer and discussion. Please let the church office or Sandie Griffeth know if you would like to join us as we try to "break the code" on Wednesday mornings.
Men’s Bible Study
A men’s Bible study continues weekly every Wednesday evening in the Conference Room beginning at 6:00. A 4-week study on the Book of Matthew will begin September 8th, facilitated by Kent Selby. For more information, contact David Smith or Steve Price.
Companions in Christ
The study/prayer group, Companions in Christ, will be beginning their fall schedule on Wed., Sept 8th at 6:30, in the library. These final ten weeks of the program will have two parts: “Responding to Our Call: The Work of Christ” and “Exploring Spiritual Guidance: The Spirit of Christ.” If you are interested in joining us, or want some further information, please see Rev. Mid-Week Bible Study
The Mid-Week Evening Bible Study will begin at 6:30 on Wed., Sept. 8th in the Joe Taylor Classroom (Education Building). Ever wondered how the preachers came up with their sermons? Would you like to be better prepared for Sunday Worship? Come and take an in-depth look at the sermon scripture for the week. This is a casual, no-homework, discussion class for all adults. If you need child-care, please let the office know.
Green Church: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice!
The Seekers Class begins a new study on January 9th, entitled "Green Church: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice!" by Rebekah Simon-Peter. Through scripture, scientific findings, learning activities and discussion, the class will learn how to make a difference and become better caretakers of God's planet. Learn how caring for the environment is an act of Christian faith and a way of showing love to God and neighbor. You’ll find us in the conference room each Sunday morning beginning at 9:15am. The Seekers Class offers adults of all ages the opportunity to discuss a wide range of contemporary and traditional Christian issues. Come, participate, listen, learn and enjoy.
PrimeTimers
The Primetimers’ meet for a monthly gathering. They bring a covered dish to share and meet in the CLLC at 12:00 noon.

Calling all Musical 5th Graders, Middle Schoolers & High Schoolers!
Scott Brunson is planning to have some special music performed by 5th and 6th graders, as well as a special youth ensemble over the coming months. A Heart For High Schoolers?
Do you want to share your love of God with the next generation? Do you have the gift of teaching? Then we are looking for you to serve on a team who will rotate teaching responsibilities. You can commit to teach once every four or five weeks, and still remain active in your Adult SS Class!
