The new 2010 Pictorial Directory is now available online under "Members" on the top menu. You will need to be registered and to also obtain a directory password from the church office.
Hibben United Methodist Church (and its volunteers) is now an official host site for Angel Food Ministries which provides a hand-up to people and families who need to expand their food budget. Orders and distribution of Angel Food are handled by churches and community organizations.
During the first part of each month, host sites take orders for boxes of Angel Food from its community. Orders are then turned in to Angel Food Ministries headquarters in Monroe, Georgia.
Angel Food then purchases quality food from first-rate suppliers to fulfill the orders. The fresh food is delivered in bulk to the Angel Food Warehouse where it is divided and shipped to host sites for distribution on a predetermined date of the month.
Volunteers at the host site divide the food into individual orders. These boxes of Angel Food then are picked up by those who have placed orders.
Since the gatherings are over for now, the ordering times have changed. They will be on the first two Thursday mornings of each month from 10:00-12 noon in the church office and on the first two Sundays mornings of each month via an order slip that can be picked up at the Welcome Desk and placed in the offering plate with the payment. The online ordering period is longer and usually extends to the Sunday before the distribution date.
Orders can be picked up in the Christian Life and Learning Center behind the main church building. Bring your receipt or a picture ID. Bring a laundry basket, cooler or large box to collect your items. No grocery bags allowed. Purchase is only for this distribution date. No refunds. No credit for following month(s). Unclaimed items will be donated to others in need if not picked up by 12:00 on distribution day.
